when it was still of use to cast a spell...
The World of Restharrow
A generation has passed since the Blight first took hold, leaving the once-prosperous Kingdom fractured and besieged by undead horrors known as the Fallen. Remote settlements like Restharrow offer fragile refuges far from the fortified cities of the nobility. For better or worse, this is your home.
Restharrow takes inspiration from media such as Darkest Dungeon, Kingdom Come Deliverance, Pathologic 2, Wanderhome, and Dragon Age: Origins.
When and Where?
We have five events for our oneshot campaign, hosted at Blue Springs Scout Reserve, Ridley Lodge in Acton, Ontario. The site has indoor bunks, washrooms, showers, and a kitchen you can sign-up to use when buying tickets.
Act 1: November 14th-16th, 2025
Act 2: December 5th-7th, 2025
Act 3: January 30th-1st, 2026
Act 4: February 27th-1st, 2026
Act 5: March 27th-29th, 2026
Day vs Night
Restharrow has two game periods; the day and the night.
During the day, the town will be peaceful. Players are expected to enjoy the mundane life of the town and co-create scenes with other characters.
During Saturday night, undead will leave the woods and terrorize the town. Players may choose to stay as their character to play in more dramatic, horror-focused scenes that risk character death, or they may choose to have their character hide away in the Safehouse as they play the undead attacking the hamlet of Restharrow.
Game Philosophy
Restharrow is an Emergent LARP, a type of LARP popularized by workshop designer Ericka Skirpan. It is a form of gameplay that combines narrative and consent-driven negotiation with more traditional competitive elements that are widely known in North American LARP scenes.
Players enter an open world that they are free to explore and influence. There is no grand narrative being created by the team. Instead, stories emerge from the interactions of the player-characters who collectively live in the hamlet.
A Limited-Run Game
Restharrow is a limited-run oneshot LARP. Our story is contained within a set number of events. When our final event concludes in 2026, so too does your character's journey in this run of Restharrow.
If future seasons or new runs are created, you’re welcome to bring your character back and tell a new story with them, but it will not be canon to the original tale you lived through.
All stories must come to an end. By choosing a limited-run format, we offer our players the certainty of an ending—a final page—so that you can shape your character’s arc in step with the rest of the community.
